The term Microlot refers to a specific crop that exceeds in quality its neighbouring lots, and is generally available in much smaller quantities due to the small area in which it was grown.
This particular microlot is grown at altitudes of up to 1500 meters above sea level and comes from the Palmares Cooperative (COOPEPALMARES), a holder of ISO certification in Quality and Environmental Management, located in Alejuela, central Costa Rica.
COOPEPALMARES operates a facility which produces organic fertilisers for its crops, and it is a cooperative which aims to create an a truly sustainable culture by operating its own supermarket, and providing for a healthcare unit for its members.
